The Leica SP8 is an automated inverted confocal laser scanning microscope allowing simultaneous acquisition of 5 fluorescent channels and 1 transmitted light channel (BF). The system is equipped with a very flexible white light laser source and an additional 440 nm pulsed laser. Further, the SP8 FALCON (Fast Lifetime CONtrast) allows for Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM) faster than conventional systems. A resonant scanner, climate chamber, including temperature and CO2/O2 controller (for hypoxia), favor confocal live cell studies.
